Michael Marcantonio is a director at Galaxy Digital, where he serves as lead transactional counsel for the firm’s corporate development group, which focuses on balance-sheet mergers and acquisitions, distressed lending and equity investments. He also oversees Galaxy’s investment banking group, a registered broker dealer that provides a range of financial services to institutional clients, including private placement and M&A advisory services. Michael is also counsel to the firm’s Strategic Opportunities group, which focuses on strategic investments in a variety of blockchain projects and protocols, as well as Galaxy’s communications, research and finance groups. As counsel at Galaxy, Michael is confronted with complex and exciting challenges relating to the emergence of blockchain technology as a rapidly accelerating new asset class and its intersection with the existing global financial, legal and regulatory system. Prior to Galaxy, Michael began his career as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, representing private equity clients and public companies in a range of complex mergers and acquisitions. He is a graduate of Duke Law School (’15), from which he received a J.D., and is barred in the state of New York.
