Celebrating Progress and Purpose: Women in Crypto Panel at Galaxy HQ

Newsroom - Black

Last month, Galaxy’s Women at Galaxy Employee Resource Group (ERG) hosted its third annual Women in Crypto event at our New York headquarters. We welcomed external clients and counterparties to the event for the first time, creating a platform for broader collaboration and dialogue.

As part of its mission, the Women at Galaxy ERG aims to foster mentorship, networking, and collaboration through initiatives such as coaching sessions, coffee chats, and events like Women in Crypto.

“This event is becoming an annual tradition—one that women in crypto can look forward to each year,” shared an attendee.

Moderated by Galaxy’s Deputy General Counsel, Francesca Don Angelo, the panel featured leaders from across the industry, including Christine Kim (Galaxy), Grace Chao (Citi), and Jessica Jonas (Bitcoin Legal Defense Fund). The panelists discussed trends and challenges shaping crypto, while also reflecting on the importance of representation and the evolving role of women in the space.

“See the forest from the trees,” said Grace Chao, reminding attendees to keep the big picture in mind while navigating the complexities of the industry. She emphasized that crypto has the potential to drive a paradigm shift in the global financial system. “It’s critical that women have an equal role in bringing about this change,” Grace added.

Christine Kim encouraged attendees to “lean in,” underscoring that now is the perfect time for women to make their mark in the industry. She also shared a grounded perspective, advising attendees, “Don’t make crypto your identity.” Christine highlighted the value of diverse opinions in shaping the future of crypto, saying, “Perspectives vary drastically depending on the specific role and subsector. Events like these showcase that range and inspire collaboration.”

The Women at Galaxy ERG remains committed to amplifying voices, supporting career growth, and driving meaningful change. Events like Women in Crypto underscore the importance of creating spaces where women and others can connect, learn, and lead.

Galaxy recognizes the importance of having these types of conversations now to ensure we shape the future of digital assets responsibly. Reach out to [email protected] to share your ideas for fostering more opportunities for connection and innovation.
